Bancolombia, Colombia’s largest bank, has signed an agreement with Gemini to begin offering cryptocurrency trading.
Beginning December 14, citizens will be able to access digital asset trading services straight from their bank accounts.
For the first year, however, crypto assets are confined to Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash.
Colombians will be able to buy cryptocurrencies straight from their bank accounts beginning December 14. Bancolombia, the country’s largest bank, has teamed with digital asset exchange Gemini to provide crypto services.

Colombians will soon be able to purchase their chosen cryptocurrencies using their bank accounts. Exchange governed by US law Gemini said that it has completed the implementation phase required for Colombians to acquire digital assets using monies in their Bancolombia accounts.
Gemini will offer the infrastructure for digital asset exchange and custody for withdrawals, deposits, and holding of the new asset class. Bancolombia will manage the client’s pesos money, which are the country’s official currency.
