After reading several stories, I noticed that writers with around 2,200 reads per month are often earning over $100. So, based on my research, Medium appears to pay more than YouTube. However, gaining views on YouTube seems much easier than on Medium.

From my point of view it is clear that Medium pays more than Youtube per view/reads except that Youtube has over 1 billion visitors while on Medium there are maximum 1 million.
