What is Shiba Inu (SHIB)?
Shiba Inu (SHIB) is a decentralized cryptocurrency that was created in August 2020 by an anonymous person or group known as “Ryoshi.” It is an Ethereum-based ERC-20 token and is often referred to as a “meme coin” due to its association with the Shiba Inu dog breed, which was also popularized by the Dogecoin (DOGE) cryptocurrency.
SHIB was initially introduced as an experiment in decentralized community building and gained significant popularity and media attention during the 2021 cryptocurrency boom. The token’s developers positioned it as an alternative to Dogecoin, with a goal to create a vibrant ecosystem around it.
The Shiba Inu ecosystem includes three tokens: SHIB, LEASH, and BONE. SHIB is the primary token, while LEASH and BONE are designed to offer additional functionality and incentives within the ecosystem.
